New To Me 34' '87 Scarab III

Just picked this up as a project. Not sure if I'm in over my head or not but I guess we'll see.

34' '87 Scarab III, 496 Strokers, Aluminum Heads and Intakes, Demon Carbs, D.U.I. Distributors, C.M.I. Headers, Huber 10 Disc Transmissions, TRS Drives, Hydraulic Steering, Gaffrig Gauges, Newer Interior, Triple Axle Aluminum Trailer, etc... Picked it up for $7500.

The starboard engine dropped a valve, haven't pulled it apart yet to see how bad. Port engine seems to run good. Needs paint and tlc, mainly just old boat rehab stuff.

Looks like a nice project. Seems to be in v. good condition anyway so maybe more of a tlc project like you say, hope she's solid and dry!

Keep the thread alive, plenty of interested Scarab fans around.

The boat is nice, but I'm more curious about the stretch limo you have for a truck.

Lol. My oldest son and I built it a few years ago. Just wanted more room so we cut it in half and solved the problem. Seats 9 seat belted in. Still need to pull it back apart and finish everything out but theres just never enough time to get around to it. (or I'm just not motivated enough, lol) Lots of room and pretty good fuel economy on the highway, when not towing.

If anyone wants that done to theirs it'd run 15-20k complete. Takes 6-8 weeks. Bad ass tow rig though.

thats a lot of boatfor the money, I loved my 88 ScarabIII. If you ever have to do the transom do yourself a favor and bring the X dimension up two inches. Made a HUGE difference in how mine handled and carried the bow. That boat was really layed out well to, comfortable to weekend on.

I like the limo'd out truck to. I'm building an old school Topkick for my self at the moment.

Nice!! Crew and a half cab! I always wanted to six door a business class FL60 Freightliner. Probably wont get around to that any time soon though, lol.

got this from a friend that was building it as a four door with an extended long bed. When i started measuring it up i didnt like the way a custom stretched ten foot oem bed looked and when i measured everything up it turned out an extra cab and short put the wheel well right over the axle, got new dually fenders to go on it yet and a slick SureTop cap thats angled at the lift gate. Now for the cool part, i sourced out a custom interior from a wrecked conversion van that i had XT Innovations recover in grey ultra suede (f'ing came out bad ASS btw). The fronts are standard captains chairs and the back is a power tri fold bench that extends down in to a 76" x 76" bed with the push of a button :D got all new smooth boxes for the sides and looking for polished tanks. Also have onboard 7K generator as well as seventy gallon fresh water holding tank with power washer. I also have full air ride rear axle to install. I figured I'd build me and all purpose urban assault vehicle :D . . . . super pimp mode lol
