29 Scarab Stereo placement/setup

Who has it figged out for the best sound for that boat. Don't really want to cut holes in a unmolested P-29 but 1996 factory sucks. My last boat had a 3000 watt 6 ten in subs lots of speakers and batteries. I have a trophy from the Shootout stereo contest at LOTO. The weight of all that sound really effected the preformace. Bottom line I want sound with out scrubbing very little speed. The sound I had in my last boat was 13yrs old.

I'm with you. I like the under bench storage. I was thinning about side placement in the gunwale section both port and starboard. A custom made box could fit 10" sub on each side. The amp I was thinking of the port and starboard side of the under bench storage. One amp for the subs and one for the rest of the speakers. I have less stress about cutting into the side vinyl for the 6.5" rounds. I don't think I can cut the fiberglass to have the subs below the bench seat. I have seen the Polk 1040UM subs and they sound good. What you thinking for equipment?

I've been out of the stereo loop for years I know Technology has come a long ways. I'm just getting started on my home work so I can do it right the first time. The local shop wants $5500.00 I'm having a hard time thinking you can stuff that much sound into that small of area. I guess what I'm looking for is some one that has put a whip ass stereo in a 29 Scarab and to buy this, this and this and put it here, here and here.

Armstrong has some nice placement of his speakers. In my last boat I used the cerwin vega marine sub. If they still made those subs I would use them. I used infinity marine for 6x9 and 6.5" round speakers. System was very impressive and more than enough. At this point I really like all the Polk marine subs and speakers. Power them with the proper amps and use a nice head unit you should be around $1500-2000. I'm looking forward to seeing your project.

I have 2 subs with boxes under the rear seat, minimal impact on storage. I also have two custom designed enclosures directly behind the seats and then a 4 speakers set up custom designed above the door. I'm on a 33 AVS though so don't know if the 29 has the room. If I could figure out how to insert a pic without a URL I would show you.
