Just curious, if you did a CC build what your preferred donor hull would be?
I don’t see me doing another one, not to this extent anyway. Turning my 38 donor boat into a center console is intriguing but would require a lot of work. I’ve read that they tend to roll a lot because of how narrow they are and with the deadrise compared to modern designs. There’s still a lot to do with this boat.

You guys didn’t have to like me saying I’m the local idiot 😂. Or maybe I’m the village idiot.

I raised the boat up and got underneath and am repairing the holes from the previous water pickups as well as some divets and gouges. I used some floor jacks and frame rack fixtures to put a little upward pressure to push any air out of the repair. Looks like it’ll be next week getting the boat on the trailer.

I’m sure a few powerboat journalists are following your progress. I reckon this is the perfect restoration for a feature article. Start with a classic boat that was pretty much junk and rebuild it better than new. Not sure how this story could be condensed into a 10 minute read but I hope someone picks it up and gives the restoration the credit it deserves.

Look forward to the day you get her wet. I can’t even imagine the cleaning that’ll take place afterwards. 🙂

That was a good idea, squeezing the laminate flat with a little pressure. Being on the jack stands kept the pressure consistant
(vs being on the trailer) and i'd bet there was minimal sanding and no filler.
Really shows your a good fabricator, using tools for other than designed purpose and still produce good results.
What did you top it off with and is the bottom going to be paint or gel ?

rak, your right, this build should be featured and the magazine/show should spring for gas to get the day on the water exclusive

Put the boat on the trailer today and rolled it outside. This boat fits this trailer very good. Plenty of trailer for the boat.
