Looks like they peeled off one of the "I Did This" stickers on that pump. LOL. Yea that sucks, $620.00 for 140 gallons/$4.43/gallon. Think what the truckers are paying every few days. A friend sent me a great short video of life without oil. I need to figure out how to post it here on OSO. It is a great video to send to all your oil dumb friends.

Nice, I just put a 1/2 tank to top off our Sea Ray at $6.25/gallon on the water... $705 bucks.

I’ve spent some time figuring out how to source the switches on the console. Carling switches is the manufacturer and they still actually make the same switch is brand new 42 years later. I had to order the three types of switches from three different vendors. I’ve got the green switches and the non-lighted tank switches and now waiting on the red switches.

Thanks to Bill at ATECO for getting me the oil coolers, trans coolers, hoses, plumbing for the fuel delivery, fuel pumps, ignition systems and brackets to mount all this as well as remote oil filter and fuel separator setups on the front of the engines. He’s also got some new oil pans, pumps and pickups coming.
I’ve also been working on the instrument panel and am getting close to spending a lot of time with the butane torch, solder and heat shrinks. Also i have a friend working on the upholstery and the toggle switch bezel and the cup holder… https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...12e703bbb.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8dcad9a07.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0574a96a1.jpeg |
You know you've either made a lot of progress or totally lost it when you're working on the cup holder on a 38' Scarab.
Wish You & Your Family a wonderful Memorial Day weekend Heath. Cheers, Lars. |
Heath,
If you plan on actuating your drive/tabs with that original push button panel, you will most likely throw them overboard after 1 time out - I did. Rocker switches are so much more positive and easy to find when running. Can't wait to see motors in the boat. Andy |
Thanks Lars, you’re right Andy, I plan on swapping it out. The rigging of the engines is taking a long time, but there’s things that just need to be done before the engines go back in. I’ve got the port motor just about done. I had to go back and cut a hole in the right side of the port engine mount fir cooling hose clearance (then repaint it) Still waiting on some hoses, and the dipstick and tube are being custom made. Been very slammed at the shop lately and haven’t had time to work on it much.
