1990 Scarab CV saved from the scrap pile!
So my first boat was a 1990 Scarab CV and I loved the boat! It started of my love for offshore hi-performance boats and now I'm lucky enough to have an awesome 12 year + employment with Sunsation Powerboats where I am now a partner within. I sold my old Scarab CV in 2007 after finding out we were having a baby girl and since then we have had 3 different boats. I have always missed my CV and wish I would have never let it go! Now that my daughter is older, I have time for a project and want a smaller hot rod boat again! I contacted the friend of the guy that bought my old Scarab CV from me to find that the owner is still happy with the boat is has no plans of selling it! So I started my hunt for one I could build, knowing I would not use much of any of the original parts I was happy to find a deal on a hull that had some issues!! I will post pic's of this project as it will be the nicest Scarab CV once finished as I have big plans for custom glass work to restyle the dash and rear end of the boat. I did not save one part from this boat and can't wait to customize it my way! Yes - it's not a Sunsation! But I have a long history with the CV and it's more of an emotional attachment! I have only had the boat for a few weeks and I just pick in it after work when I can! Believe it or not this is my fun! Enjoy the pics

As you can see I'm doing the transom, stringers, bulkheads, lowering the cockpit floor 3", moving the fuel tank back 6", cutting down the center stringer to make room for a small usable cabin for kids, opening the bulkhead to v-birth to give it a usable feel, and changing the dash layout! This will have have high back buckets sitting down low, new paint, power, and all new rigging!

Hi Kyle,
I remember your first white/orange and black CV. Looks like a good start on this one, much like the 27' Magnum, a 3" lower cockpit will be a big improvement. What do you plan on running for power? where did you find the boat at?
Good luck with it and post plenty of pics of the progress, I look forward to following the resto. Tell Wayne that I said Hi.

More mods! Cutting the center stringer down in the cabin as it's not really needed, removed fuel tank and will lower floor height.
