38 Scarab X-Dimention
 

Who here has raised there engines x dimension on the 377/38 Scrarab flat decks. I'm planning on raising mine 3" over where it is now, but I don't see how it's possible. The side decks are so wide on these boats, that it then infringes on some of the room in the bilge. Almost all of the boats I have found pictures of have had to do some cutting to get the outside headers to clear the lip around the hatches. From the looks of it 1.5/1.75" may be the max. Now for me I have standoff boxes, go I can get an additional inch there. So for those of you that have raised your engines, how much were you able to get away with?
