My 33 AVS build

Hoping if I get a post going it will keep me motivated to get this ready for boating season.

Was drinking and on here one night and found a post of someone looking to sell a 33 without power. Decided it would be a good purchase. Needed to rent a truck, gave enterprise my zip code and they gave me the info to the "closest" location which happened to be across town from me. Sure enough on the evening I planned to leave I couldn't make it to there in time to get the truck before closing time. Sent the seller a picture of a mini pitcher of beer and a pile of cash and said sorry I missed the truck rental, will be leaving tomorrow instead. This is also when my girlfriend found out about this boat (which was going to be the 4th boat I owned at the same time) of course you can guess how it went over. Ended up leaving the next morning to go get it. 1,300 some odd miles, less than 24 hours. Wanted to get as many miles behind me at night as I could, just to be out of traffic. Finally needed to sleep around 6:30, pushed long enough to find a church parking lot around 7, fell asleep right away. Of course a phone call came through I had to answer at 7:20 so off I was again. My dad was living in China at the time, so between texting him, some Rockstar energy drink and Pandora cranked up I averaged 55 mph for the entire trip including gas stops, looking the boat over, the nap, messing around with the adaptor in walmarts parking lot. Found out when I was dropping the truck back off that they have one other location in town that happens to be less than 10 minutes from my house. Glad they searched that for me.

Needed to stop at walmart to get an adaptor for my class 3 hitch to fit the class 5 reciever on the truck. Of course it fought everything and I ended up in and out of walmart buying hammers and crap for half of an hour.

Made it back to my buddys shop to find he had no spaces for it to be stored.

Found a spot, came with a full cover to under the chines. Sucks to put on but it keeps it clean.

Interior is ending up on my list. The sundeck purple was hit with some kind of harsh chemical that washed it out somewhat. Have been talking to my interior guy about it, looking like it'll be another "next winter" project. Thinking of taking out the rear seat divider thing, don't think anyone is going to be sitting down while running. Do you guys notice yours being used?

Part of the decision for motors was the boost gauges already being installed. If the shoe fits...

Oh and it turns out I am the third (?) owner to buy this boat while drunk.

Started cleaning off the extra silicone and pulling the steering thru hulls off. Going to mount rams inside of drives. Fun part will be finding the paint code on the white when they fill the holes/

Nice looking 33. Do you already have motors for the boat?

Good luck with the build project! They are good hull.

As for the rear seat, I had both bolstered and non-bolstered, and while i always thought the bolstered setup looked cooler/sportier, the bench seat was much more practical, if you plan on hanging out on the boat at all

Thank you. Have a set of 525sc’s getting freshened up now. Also have stellings extension boats that are going on it. Those were the hardest motors I’ve ever pulled out. Those boxes are a major pain to work with.

Yeah, looks cool but looks like it will be in the way. Will make sure my guy knows to make it just a normal back seat when we get to that step.

I'll be watching! I own one of these too, alot of things I like about them, alot I dont. Interior in the 33 AVS is about stupidest, cramped, uncomfortable one ive ever dealt with. I threw all mine in trash and started over, mine interior does not resemble any other 33 avs Ive seen now! Ill try to find them and post, I had new, wider bolsters built to replace the power bolsters. Im 6'3" and in the 6 weeks before redoing interior that I owned the boat, I literally have a scar on my knee from a screw head on dash that i kept rubbing my knee on. The back seat was rediculously narrow with those stupid super wide arm bolsters on each side, got rid of them which gave seat more useable space. With engine hatch lifted all the way still made you contort your body sideways to reach the back so I cut them in half and converted it to twin hatches, Smitty

This was when I originally redid interior, they guy who did it made the "scarab" in back seat stupid small, the following winter I had THAT redone larger.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...383f25b171.jpg
