Thanks. Its not fast at all in its current state, low to mid 60s. Not bad, Id be satisfied with upper 60s low 70s which I think is a doable number with some worked loopers and some prop work.

Not horrible, just going off what I was told. Maybe that was on fumes with 1 person🤷‍♂️
At any rate I look at this boat kinda like a Formula 402, Itll be a nice river cruiser for me. Not looking to win any races, I like the style and presence of the boat the most.

How fast was a Scarab with the base 330hp 454's? just comparing the I/O drive train loss/ and extra weight vs. the O/B's..

definitely a concept that was ahead of it's time.

The pics of the OP's Raider's cockpit looks like a standard Scarab layout including the sun pad on the engine hatches. Was this the factory config of the Raider or was it a larger seating cockpit and this one was changed out at some point?

Man, I dunno. Id venture to say 50s somewhere max? These were quoted at 7k and change. Id have to dig around.

The current owner made that sunpad. We talked about it at length because I wanted to make sure I could go back to the original configuration w/out seeing a bunch of bastardized fastener holes and such. He said he built it to be reversible. So, the plan is to push that aft seat back to its original location which is butting up to the transom hatches.

No stress...just posting what flitted through my thoughts at the time reading aqua Banshee's post...I wasn't sure which power package would have had the advantage of any...boat for boat, your o/b Setup looks like a 100% attention grabber....great lines in the water

I hear ya. Yeah I really dig this setup. Its ideal for me because I wont feel horrible leaving it on the mooring. I just couldn't stomach doing that with my Cafe. Ill get way more use out of this boat..

Update: I’ll be in from sea and West Bound and Down early tomorrow morning from Staten Island for Kentucky. I had a friend do a seat of the pants survey soley to put a set of eyeballs on it, he confirmed what the owner and I had previously discussed about the boat. That gave me a little better feeling about making the trip. I should be there Friday late morning. Fingers crossed.
