'95 Scarab 31
 

Anyone running a similar boat? '95 Scarab 31 with HP 450's, Gil Switchable Exhaust, Bravo "Performance" Drives and 25" Mirage Props. This model has the low Plexi windscreen not the large windshield set-up as seen on earlier thunders. Looking for an estimate of top speed and need a drive tie bar.

What rpm can you reach, and what is the dry weight of the boat? I have a 30' panther and with running 25p mirages at 5050 got to about 70-71mph. As powered at the moment I am only getting 4700rpm and about 67-68mph. Reworking the eingines over the winter and hoping to be in the 430hp range, going up to hopefully a labbed 27p mirage and turning 5100rpm. I am estimating 75mph if all goes as planned. My listed boat weight dry is 6500 pounds.

For your exact boat I have read threads discussing speed. If you do a search on this forum you may get a more precise guesstimate. Also, I have seen tie bars frequently on ebay motors.
