Engines both RUN! I ran each one for ~30 minutes to op-check them. After filling the quadrajet carb bowls, they fired right up. Each one builds about 75psi oil pressure. One of them won’t register temperature. I assume the sensor has a bad ground. The stbd TRS drive transom assembly seems to be leaking gear oil from its reservoir.

I also installed an epoxy thru hull depth sounder. I hope it works with this hull type.

The boat is on track for a May splash test.

After about a year of work, I did a sea trial today at Lake Havasu. Got 62mph. It cruises very well at 3000rpm and 45 mph.
One engine runs cool, so I think the T-stat might be stuck open.
One engine has a tendency to die when I pull it back to idle. I think the plugs are fouled. I oughtta replace them all.
One of the TRS drives is leaking slightly into the bilge. I’m guessing a yoke seal is bad and it’s leaking thru the bellows.

other than that, everything worked great.

Haven’t posted in a while. I fixed the bad thermostat, put in fresh spark plugs, and adjusted carburetor idle. Both engines are reliable and don’t stall anymore. I did another Havasu trip in October. Today I gutted out the old cockpit upholstery and built all new panels. I kept it plain and inexpensive. Jo-Ann fabric was having a liquidation sale so I got foam & vinyl for cheap.
She’s not gonna win any shows, but the interior is great for beaching at the sandbar with the dogs!!
