Some Wellcraft history questions?
 

Since there is no longer a separate Wellcraft forum (and since this forum gets a lot more traffic than the Excalibur forum)....

I've seen a few early 80's 40' Excalibur and/or Wellcraft Excalibur Hawk boats for sale lately. They look like big, heavy deep-V's - real wave crushers!

What is the relationship between the Wellcraft models and the Excalibur models? Is one better built than the other? Any known problems? I'm speaking specifically of the 40' model.
