what scarab do I have?
 

I recently bought a 30 scarab, twin 425 hp merc's, TRS
and I believe the hull is kevlar. I can't find any info about this boat. My friend has a 30 panther but the boats have some big differences, Can anybody help ?

What year is your boat? When I purchased my boat new in 1989 Kevlar was an option. I have the 89-90 brochure for Scarab boats.

Sorry I forgot the year. It is a 90. But the only info I could find is for a 89. It does not matter that much to me anyway, I love this boat,just wish I new more about it. Thanks !

NADA shows the following in 30' for 1990;

Scarab Sport 30 8' 4000# Outbrd, or 270 Sea Drives
Monoco 3000 10'-8" 9800# Stern 270s

There is only one listing for a 31'
Scarab Excel 31 8'-6" 7300# Stern 330s

However, there is also a 29' "Prima 2600" 9'-8" 7200# w/either 175s or a single 330.

The panther was the scarab as well as the 31 excel.,

Panthers were only avail. for 4 years '86-'89. My NADA goes only through 1990. No Vipers listed so must have come later.

I'm curious about the year too. Do the doc papers or title give a model name or length? What do the numbers on the transom read?

I think that The Harbormaster over on the Classic Donzi Registry has an Scarab Panther he is fixing up. You may want to post over there and ask him. Name is Scot.

He is doing one up last I spoke with him in Aug. at P.K.
