That boat is in Tierre Verde Fl, I spoke with owner 2 weeks back. He also owns a Outerlimits. Nick Buis (Performance Plus Marine) has been maintaining it. Here's his Outerlimits

If I Could Have Afforded That Boat I Would Have Tried To Buy It. I Always Admired That Boat AND IF YOU LOOK ON THE BLOWER DRIVES WEB IT ALSO HAS A PICTURE OF THE BOAT

You could have bought it two years ago for around 175k. The price of the boat didnt bother me but the fuel did. I know Joe spent 50K one year for fuel :eek: .

That was one cool boat. I remember it from the 1000 islands poker run in 97. It spanked reggies ohio steel all day. Sounded real good too.

i remember 6 or 8 years ago seeing smokin joe at smoke on the water. man what a runner. we were running around 75 and he went by us like the house on the side of the road 6' out of the water. too cool. he was running with reggie's old #76 race boat. reggie would go in the harbor get a card and start running again. unlike all the other boats that would hold up and run together. good memory's.

Yeah that's the one that really set the hooks in me on this big offshore boat deal :rolleyes: ... That would have been at an old Pier 33 / Thunder poker run back in the early - mid 90's . There were some serious Scarabs on the circuit back then with Joe's , the #5 boat , and the red white and blue 38 they had 3 blondes run at the big events back then ... Cool stuff !

I spoke with the owner at a poker run down in Ft Myers a couple months ago and I believe he was from the Tampa or Sarasota area. I believe he is in the process of going over the boat.

Smokin Joe is now for sale at Lake Cumberland Marine. The owner traded Joe in for XXX a 47' Outerlimits GTX. He's here in MI for the Smoke on the Water Poker Run this weekend. XXX held the V-bottom speed record last year at something like 161mph. One Bad Boat!!

As I recall Joe's boat would run between 105-108 depending on the motor setup.
