How does one find Larry Smith
I just bought a 43 scarab thunder without power and drives(original had twin blower motors and # 6 drives) and have been trying to determine proper drive height for twin # 3 drives . I was thinking that asking Larry Smith might net me the best advice. Thanks Rick G.

Try Archer Marine, Dan Macnamara, he is the guy that is working with Larry now in Costa Mesa CA. (949)646-9778 they are building and rigging Larry Smith boats...Dan is a knowledgeble guy and could probably give you the best advice.
Dan and Larry converted one of the 43's to a 48 or 50 with twin Diesels and arneson drives, the boat cruised all day @ 70mph solid. Here's a few shots of the boat running at the 2004 SCOPE Poker Run, Dan driving and Larry sitting shotgun  |
Re: How does one find Larry Smith
Thanks guys I actually spoke to Dan and ne indeed did set me up. In fact he recommends for the 43 Scarab with a notch , no standoff boxes and # 3 drives to run the drives with the prop shaft 2 inches below the hull. This translates to an X dimension of 22.31 inches to be exact.Jeff at CMC also recommended the same setting. You guys have been great and I couldn't have donw this without your help . I hope some day I can return the favour.
