My parents have a 1989 Sea Ray 260 with a 2006 Merc 496 & Bravo 1. I redid the gauges last summer.

Wow, I haven't seen this thread in 6 months I bet. Didn't know anything was happening in here!

I saw a boat on Tablerock last Saturday. Our last day on the water there but he was in Cow Creek coming out. We were all heading in so I turned around and tried to catch up and not hit anyone. I couldn't tell what it was but it was 26-27', might have been a cuddy and with twins. I was running loaded and heavy then hit a bunch of slop trying to swing out around some traffic and couldn't get in position to get closer. Plus with 2 kids on the bow, and wife close enough to smack me, I didn't need to push it.

Anyhow, I don't think I hit anything above 62-64 up there so he was running pretty strong. I'd guess real close to, if not 60MPH.

Default S-24 with 383

Finally got the boat tested with new engine, runs [email protected] w 21" Ballistic prop. Was hoping for a few more mph, but seems to hit a wall...

But it sure sounds nice...

I have a 1988 s-24 love the boat but do think it could use a little more power looking into my options of either a blower or keeping it all motor

Tried different props and results have been 57-60mph, so I need some info to hull modifications. Has anyone made hull mods for a similar boat, what kind a results are to be expected?
