Towing a SLX 270

I just bought a Sea Ray SLX 270 and am concerned about the towing of it. I have a 2003 H2 Hummer. (NO HUMMER HATERS POST STUPID COMMENTS. THANK YOU.) I know the Hummer can tow 6700 lbs. The boat dry weight is 5555 lbs. and that is without the trailer, tower, and 496 engine. My dealer thinks the weight of the boat with the tower and engine is around 5900 lbs., but is not sure. I just want to see if anyone has towed a boat about that size with a Hummer, and what it is like. I will only be towing once or twice a year about 400 miles. The rest of the time loading in and out of the water only. Thanks

with engine+tower+trailer+fuel+gear youll be over 7000lbs.
Close to home at reduced speeds I dont see a problem
Doing that for 400 miles on the open road in a Tahoe based vehicle might be pushing it.

That is what I'm worried about. Live in Northern Kentucky and hit the lakes a couple times a year. Never had a problem with my old boat, but it was about 250 lbs light with full load.

I pull a 27 Pachanga with a 2001 Ford Expedition and have had no problems. I towed her home 400 miles when I bought her. I say just watch your speeds and you should be fine. Nice boat by the way!!

I have an F-350 with powerstroke to pull my P32, but it came from Virginia to Omaha, NE behind a 2000 Excursion with a V-10. It is not light, but still did 70 down the highway. You shouldn't have any problems towing your Ray with that thing. Just my two cents...

If it has trailer brakes and doesnt have the bumber on the ground you should be safe, power should not be a problem.

I wouldn't worry about the weight they all under estimate the ratings for towing.my 2cents. ps take the boat to ascale and have it weighed.
