Default Am/fm radio antennae

I have been doing a little spring repairs on my 87 P-22 and was cleaning up some sloppy wiring from the previous owners stereo install and while tracing the power and grounds I was curious and followed the antennae wire which ended up running along the helm to the starboard side and attached to what looks like one of the screws that holds the windshield frame in place. My question is could it be possible that the windshield frame is the "antennae" It was not hooked up to a converter to the vhf antennae and I could not find any other type of antennae anyplace on the boat. Just curious if anyone else knows for sure.

All the ones I have seen in the P22 are on the starboard side mounted between drivers seat and rear seat.
Lay on the floor, you should be able to see where it is supposed to go.
