New boat, flush questions

I just got my new boat and i am new to the salt water. i grew up on fresh water and i am wondering what i have to do to flush the engine/outdrive after use. i have a 454 MPI with a bravo out drive.

I just got my first boat and i was looking at the outdrive and saw a hose that was not conected to anything. Can anyone tell me what this is, its just below the bellows. I have a pic but dont know...
