i raised my engine and drive 2.75 inches
had a 502 in it then and picked up a solid 2.5mph

Plus since I raised my Engine 3 inches to raise the X, I dont have any room left in my 29 scarab !!!!! I checked yesterday and the Air cleaner is a half inch below the hatch so the blower with carbs...

Here in Malta at the Marina we only have 89 octane unfortunately
I think ill be better of and more reliable with a 9:1 CR big cube N/A motor to run 89 safely like...

Exactly buddy since I raised 3 inches the boat runs great but dont wana raise it 3 inches cause I use my boat in the rough and wana stay hooked up ....
Im gona raise it 2 inches and 12 inch back...

Im sure it will help the boat by setting back the drive but im scared it wouldnt have enogh leverage if I go higher then I am !! (being 3 inches higher then stock)

Brought the slip from almost 20% to14 - 15% which is great and gained 3 mph !!!!
My nose cone now is aproxx 4.5 to 5 inches below...

Thanks for your responce guys ... I think the best thing is leave it the way it is cause its pretty reliable and prop it well and if i want to go faster, gett a bigger motor :cool-smiley-011:
