Thanks for the replies! Understood that boats run off of fuel (and it's too expensive!), however I wanted to raise awareness of where it's being extracted and if it's harmful to other activities....

Lol. Did you see the Deepwater Horizon disaster? I guess an oil slick would keep barnacles off the hull better then paint.
