I did. no moisture/water on any plugs, no moisture/water in the oil. I changed batteries and then put a new starter on it. crossed the solenoid to make sure the starter was engaging, and still will...

496 mercruiser wont crank over

i have went through the normal steps of trying to crank my engine over. does anyone have any idea on why a motor would lock up after shutting it off?
