No better explanation, just 1st hand experience as well. Maybe it comes down to tire age? I have not had any problems with heat cycled tires coming apart. Heat cycled tires lose grip in racing...

I live in FL. Tires are slightly less than the temp of the surface of the sun, then it rains. That is no different. Our car tires see no ill effects from it.
