Really 90-100s? Wow even when was new know couldn't leave hand on riser for more than a few seconds.

If I were to check the riser and/or manifold temp with a laser temp guage what would be the right temps?

Thanks, which is the fitting on the transom that greases the gimble bearing? I think there is one on top, one on right side and one other?

Also are there any other internal lube points beside at the drive shaft?

No not been replaced. Found a parts breakdown and looks like they made a 3/8 and a 7/16 pin. Guess I need the 7/16.

Going to get a infrared thermometer to measure the temp of the risers. Can anyone tell me what temp would be in the proper range? Assuming would be hotter than the water temp guage as is exhaust.

Is the 140 deg the correct thermostat for a 1988 Merc 7.4L RWC? Had overheating prob above 3200rpm and pulled t-stat and ran cooler w/ none installed so think may have been part of my overheating...
