i had the same problem, the alt. was bad, the alt. was shorting out and the batt. was keeping juice to engine so you could not shut it off.

the 410 hull is cut about 7" and the 390 beck is about 8" shorter than 410 deck. for a total of 15" shorter than the 410 (15" is very close ) .

the boat that you are talking about was a 1999 or 2000 390 with troy dennis 1000's & #3 ssm drives, the motors had to be installed high in the boat to get the drive hight right (the #3's are about 8"...

there is a guy in richmond with a 260 that is running 111.8 on rador/113.5 was on his gps.he has a 540 with a 10-71 and a solid cam,his name is Mathew.
they have a rador run every year and boats...
