Were you able to get to it by removing the drive unit on the outside of the boat?

Is your drive a Bravo 1?

The #8 fitting you are refering to in my oppinion is to have a hose from your crossover to the thermostat housing. This is with the assumption that you are using the (2) 3/4"...

I can get the adapter off of the boat, but see no way to be able to look into the fitting that comes through the gimble adapter while the engine is in the boat. Any suggetions here?

Check the hose that goes over the top of the drive unit and then back into the boat for a kink. I cooked an engine a few years ago. The boat was stored for he winter with the drive unit crancked...

These readings were done while on the hose. However our shop hose is at a fairly high PSI for that it has a booster pump on it.
