I’ve seen 78 in my 26 with a 540 and a Whipple turning a 30” 4 blade at 4900rpm, ¾ tank of fuel with a quarter throttle left but that’s at 2900’ elevation.

Yep elevation will make your motor run too rich. After a day on the water does your transom have a black soot line across it? I run on Flathead Lake at almost 2900’ and have found out the hard way...
