LOTO Memorial Day 2007?

We've never been over to LOTO, so we figured Memorial Day would be a good first trip :)

Anyone have recomendations for where to stay? I have no idea about the area, but we'd like to be close to...

I'll be out on Pewaukee 8/12 as well. I'll probably have my 1930ss bowrider out, and I'll be with a 257 Powerquest. It's sure to be a party.

Where's the best place to launch at Pewaukee?

Yes, it was a great time, and the Sheriff was ticketing that Scarab for a noise violation. What a crock too... got him as he was trailering the boat pretty much :(

By manual, I'm assuming you mean the Mercruiser repair manual for the motor? That's a good idea, I wonder if any of the local boat shops will have them in stock.

It doesn't stutter at all coming...

Alright, so it's idling fine now and shifting into fwd and reverse smoothly and without any thumps... great.

I'm still having the issue with when I'm in gear and coming back into neutral that it's...

Yes, it's a carb engine. Can I do this on the hose? or does the boat have to be in the water? If I can do it on the hose, I thought I wasn't supposed to put it into gear while running on the hose?...

Once in gear, the idle does drop a little, but only to about 1000 rpms. I'm not sure how to make these adjustments myself, so I'll probably have to take it back to the place that did the engine...

So I've just gotten a fresh reman 5.7 installed on my boat. It seems that the idle is set very high (1100 rpms) and it may be what's causing some shifting issues. It's REALLY harsh when shifting...

I purchased a boat through a broker. Went on a sea trial, had a buyers inspection done, went through all of the "proper" precautionary steps and everything looks good. It's a 1999 with a 5.7...

Well that's good to know! I don't think I'd go much beyond the 325hp anyways, as that would move a 19' bowrider along pretty well as it is :)

I may be in a similar situation right now too. Although, as of right now, I'm not even sure what's wrong with the engine exactly. 1999 5.7 Mercruiser with only 182 hours on it :(
