If you want 70, stroke em to 383, put on good heads have cams designed to the rest of the build. That should get you there. IMO with stock sbc you will gain very little with exhaust.

Volvo 280 no trim. Have bennett trimtabs. I can trim it up a bit by moving the trim bolt one hole and adjust with the trim tabs if needed. I am currently running the middle hole.

Is there a .020" sbc head gasket out there that does not need wire spaces cut into the block? I am looking for something that thick for my 383. Mostly so I will not have to deck the block.

Yep a lot more cost than wood. Factor in the cost of epoxy, grinding discs etc etc etc and the cost of a restoration can get quite high. I still have not added it all up:D. Wood will last 20++ years...
