I replaced a 4.3 with a 383 in my old 16 classic years ago. If memory serves me correct , it was a little shy of 3 inches forward on the engine mounts. I didn’t convert to a bravo fwiw.

I took my imco lower over to Wilson. They moved the water intake back and closed it up a bit. The finish is like a stainless refrigerator door. Better handling and a solid 2 mph gain.
