Seems that there was a warranty replacement hull switched in by Thunderbird Formula in 1989 which explains the Fiberglass platform. The original 242 '83 vintage inner liner and deck cap were removed...

They all came with them originally...some guys glass them in during restoration to achieve a special look that appeals to them and whoever talked them into doing it. Personally I think its a waste...

A 272 with twin BBC's is indeed a rare...
