I don't think it's that big of a problem at all with the weight. In reality it's big enough to have three normal sized dudes standing on it unless you like to get butts to nuts with your bro's. ...

A buddy installed one this year on his 24' Bayliner and it is a great addition to the boat. He says it's rated for 600 lbs. It seems pretty solid and he has had no issues with it so far.
