Ended up prying and cutting the pin to get the old one off. Slide the new one on and connect the wires, tighten the belt, and now the brand new alternator runs hot as hell and squeels...

Dumb question, but what leads do I test on the alternator? Anything I look up comes up auto related and using the battery voltage as the output.
