From what i have read, the older MERC 1050's used a 4.375" arm in a tall deck but not sure of the Rod length?

the New Merc's use a 4.21" Arm wonder...

I do know some drag guys running a 4.375 arm in 9.8 decks with good results. Why is it bad in a Marine app that will only see 6K max RPM?
