BillK is correct that the center plug needs to be removed if you want to have the oil to the cooler flow out and back only through the two taped holes on the pan rail in front of the oil filter pad...

Wink My suggestion here is to replace the original oil...

My suggestion here is to replace the original oil relief valves with GM part number 25013759. This valve will allow more oil to be fed through your oil cooler before opening on differential pressure...
