Tan and blue is normaly the alarm circuit, (resevoir bottle, low oil pressure and high water temp. Tell Ross to grab another coffee :evilb:

Did you cut off the old mercruiser engine harness plug?...

If your boat harness is stock as far back as the engine bay, look for the brown and white wire coming from the dash, (should be the same color on the back of the trim gauge sender post). extend this...

It's a simple circuit, run a line from the sender post on the trim gauge through the trim sender and then to ground. I assume the dash wiring is still stock. If not there should be switched fused...
