The 8.1 Allison packages have the same tow rating as the Dmax trucks and the rear axle ratio did not matter. The gera ratio only changes the tow rating with the 6.0 trucks. My 01 had 3.73's and my 07...

They are good trucks. I put over a 110k on my 2001 chevy 8.1 allison. I traded it in with 140k on it. I liked the combo so much that I traded it in on an 2007 Classic 2500HD with the 8.1 allison.
