thanks for the great advice - I shall go with the Sealed power L2399NF30 at 4.280ins - polish the crowns and do some measurements as suggested to make sure Im about 8.8CR which is realistic.

BBC HP425 currently running Speed Pro 14097021 pistons, forged rods, Crane 132561 cam, std 118cc 14097088 heads. Carb is 9022 Holley 600cfm and a B&M 174 blower on top...
