I have seen gas and diesel tachs lifted...

I have seen gas and diesel tachs lifted seperately in catalogs, wasn't sure if they triggered the same way, is the actual gauge 3 1/2" diameter, or is the cutout 3 1/2" my gauges are pretty tight...
