It is common to hear a small knock if you have an idle that is not steady (large cam) as the load on the UJ's is not constant and they will tend to knock but stop when the idle is bumped up to more...

Let me ask you a question.

Is the knock only when the boat is in gear and idling at low speeds?

Does it go away when you give it more throttle?
