Nope, no hammer. Sounds like a wistle. Only on that one faucet. Twisting/prying on it will stop it temporarily. And it waits till the water is VERY hot to wistle or "scream" Change the aerator maybe?...

Followup question for plumbers.
My kitchen faucet occasionally starts to "scream" when it's starts running very hot water. No kidding!
What causes that?
