Interesting do you know when they started putting the app on Garmins? The OP may want to check with Garmin to see if his 741 has it built in.

The 650 I have s in the cabin and I control all with the Garmin. No need for a remote. I think I can blue tooth controls to each but haven't needed to.

Not the exact unit you have but i have a 742xs and Fusion 650. You need the backbone to connect them. I will say its nice having the controls right on the Garmin and you can set different displays...
