The big is advantage is allowing the motors to run at a higher RPM range wich will gain you better acceleration numbers. We run 2 to 1 gears at 8200 RPM and the 2.5's like to be in the 7 to 8k range...

We have been very succesful with 30 4 blades for accelleration and it depends on your motor height as to if you run a 15 inch blade of 14.5. If you drop your motors a bit the 14.5s will spin more...
