i am not trying to be a smart azz but i would never plumb that way.the way eddie explained will remove tons more heat than your setup.you are pre warming the water before it ever gets into the block...

this is just not true,the fact is the more cool water you can flow through the engine the more heat it will remove.this is a proven fact.

the iat rises at idle because the throttle blades are almost shut and you have very little fuel to cool the air charge,as soon as you give it some throttle the fuel starts cooling the intake air...
