As far as I know the 640 has everything you would need pre-installed. I'd check to be sure before buying the 620.

If you need all of the maps the 640 is the way to go. You can buy the 620 for less but if you add maps to it - it will come out to be even more than the 640. Adding maps can get expensive...

The 640, that's it. If something better doesent come out in the next 3 months I'll probably go with the Garmin 640. Great because its portable, semi affordable, great name in Garmin, touchscreen...
