rocker arm stud installation

Do you need to apply anything to the treads other than oil? I took out the old studs and it looked like there was something like RTV on them.

priming the boat for paint

I'm using the mar-hyde high build primer for areas I fiberglassed. It's mixed 4:1:1, primer activator reducer. What can be used to thin it a little?
