There are plenty of good makes available. Make sure insurance is included in your budget for where you are. The rates might be a bit different than the open fish type boat.

I started with cones and when replaced the drives I lost some speed so there is some truth there. I do know that a member here saw over 10 mph by adding imco shorties. Pretty incredible.

For sure! Keep those bimini poles out of the air stream. FYI, on my cat the flip up wind screen would eat 1-3 mph in the up position at speeds over 90. I'd imagine those poles about the same.

My advice to you is to stay down in that area as long as possible. Some of your best boating experiences will be from Lauderdale and south; and/or east 60 miles if you guys have your passports...

I would second the idea of the chain for bar hopping, people watching, prop bending, etc. For long range cruising head to the Michigan side. Tons of good boating!

You should have 8lbs. I ran two lines off separator; one to feed the mechanical and the other to feed an electric pump and "T'd" them at the outlet port of the mechanical pump and then to the carb....
