Yes it could be the isolator,it can cause a tempoary disconection and cause a voltage spike.Bypass it and see if the problem goes away.

I would start by checking the battery cable...

I would start by checking the battery cable connection at the starter and the ground on the engine.Ussally an overcharge is caused by loose or corroded connections.The alternator will see low voltage...

Allowing the power valves to get a 0 vacume reference under the blower so they'll open.They always see a vacume when referenced on top of the blower.Easiest way I know to explain it.

Yes 250 sport thats my 27,I hope the people are ok.I heard they was lifted from the dock.Its a fun little get together,hopfully the law wont crack down because of this incident.
