Re: OT: 2500 HD vs Avalanche 2500 Pros/Cons?

I'm on my second 2500 Avalanche. I leased a 2002 and then turned it in early (pull ahead program) to buy a 2003. Numerous incentives at the time gave me about 15K off the 43K sticker, so I had to...

Re: help needed on pachanga

Is it the kind of ladder that clips into a couple of brackets on the side of the boat? A friend has a 27 Pachanga and that's how his is set up.

Re: Engine Hatch.....coming off or what?

The clarity of the reflection in the water of the k-plane and the bottom of the drive makes me think that it's a real photo. I think it would be difficult to reproduce that...

Re: 89 311 questions

Even if you cut out the back seat and floor, you'd find that the center stringer ends there and the fuel tank is directly in front of it.

Re: Marine Inovation Sucks

I believe it's the warranty company that services the Formula Guard coverage, not the engine builders.

Re: 39 Top Gun Unlimited Switch Panel Question

I'm guessing that each letter was transferred to the panel individually, and yes, it looks like absolute sh*t.

Maybe it was a lot cheaper in labor to pay someone to rub each letter on than it was...

Re: "I'm Over" Weekend Casualties

I don't think I'd recognise my wife if she didn't have at least one or two boat bruises.

I went overboard 2 weekends ago at the Cove Marina at around 3 in the morning after closing the bar. ...

Re: 1989 292 Sr1

Good luck!

For the silent thunder, a lot of people have just removed the internal baffles in the platform to free up the exhaust. You'd still have the weight (and the 89 style platform weighs...

Re: Nort's corner gas station.

Government has stepped in and taken action. Bush urges everyone to pray and give to hurricane charities, has talked to GHWBush and Clinton to drum up support around the world, the gov't is talking...

Re: Paint or Gel

On my 89 272, the white gel on the deck needed to be rubbed out every few years and the Imron on the deck looked brand new all the time.

Re: Formula Reupulstry (this may be a better place for this)

Got them from a previous job, thanks.

Ok, here's the sunpad and rear trunk skins and a shot with one of the 4 headrests. The sunpad is made with 31 separate pieces of vinyl, trunk skin has 15,...

Re: Formula Reupulstry (this may be a better place for this)

I can take pics of the skins I picked up yesterday. It won't be until later though. It would appear that you would remove the existing panels, in my case the trunk, sunpad, individual headrests,...

Re: Sun Pad Pics for a 357

With the limited cockpit space of our boats, we use the sunpad as additional seating when we're anchored. I think a carpeted hatch would be uncomfortable.

A couple of friends had sunpad covers...

Re: Formula Reupulstry (this may be a better place for this)

I just picked up replacement sunpad, trunk, headrests, and headrest trim skins from McLeod at lunch for a 95 336. I'll probably replace them at the end of the season. McLeod was great to work with...

Re: 1995 336 review in Powerboat

I do have the 1.36 drives, though Teague always says in Powerboat that you should run 1.50 until you run out of prop, say 32 pitch +.

I can send it tomorrow from work. PM me your email address, I...

Re: What prop do you guys use on your formula

Julie,

Do you have any experience with testing props for this boat? Just wondering what 4 blade would be best. I've read here that some have had good luck with both Q-IV's and another with Bravo...

Re: Wow rude awakening!! Controls aren't cheap!

They're for a boat, that why they're so expensive. I could go and buy 4 new lawn mowers, with engines, wheels, blades, and safety features, for the same price as 4 aluminum sticks with a couple of...

Re: pic of the cig T/G i sold...

Google Earth is very cool. The program was called keyhole and it at a cost of $30/year, I was considering it after a 15 day trial. I'm glad I didn't since Google bought it and made it free.

Re: Who would favor Min planing speed@night regs.

I'm generally against new regulations, but hearing a boat going WFO at night scares the hell out of me. I'm sure there's the same proportion of cruisers that run fast (for them) at night, but our...

Re: What prop do you guys use on your formula

I run labbed 23" Mirages (not plus) on my 95 336 with 1.36 and hp500's. best I've seen is 74 on GPS with half tank and a lot of gear. I can get 71 or so any day.

Re: 1995 336 review in Powerboat

How do you like the Bravo 1's and did you have 3 blades before them? Just curious as I have the same setup but a 95 (with the notched transom) and hp500's and run 23" labbed mirages.
