Do you know what "Whatever" ran when Stan owned it? Over 100 but I don't know by how much. I know John had to put the step back like it was originally to get it to run well with stock 500 back in it.

2002 Formula 382. Don't know X-dimension but it's standard XR's from the factory w/o stand-off boxes. I did try a set of cut down 15 1/8 Bravos and found in a chop they would "blow out" on one side...

Yep, twin 540's/700 ft/lbs TQ. 32P bravos, 18-19%.........28P full size (15 5/8) maximus were 10.5%. Cruise speed increase was great (WOT speed dropped), but the drives didn't survive.

I didn't have fuel flow meters so I assumed the fastest speed at 3,500 rpms gave the best gpm???. Best I could tell the boat was burning 35-40 g/h at 3,500rpms (could have been slightly more?)

You simply need to test. Once we built bigger motors in a 382 I ended up with 4 sets of props. In the end:

28P 15 5/8 maximus cruised the best, 60GPS @ 3,500 with a WOT of 83 @ 5,250
32P Labbed...

I had that problem with the AC in a 382. Stepped hull lets air in there and running seems to create a vacuum effect that creates an air pocket the pump can't overcome. I started closing the seacock...
