I would be more concerned with seeing 1/4 tank on a fountain fuel gage-lucky if you have fumes left at that point.

Actually your not supposed to sand and buff varnish-it removes the uv layers that rise to the surface. My point was the short nap roller leaves a very smooth surface that flattens out very quickly....

I do alot of varnishing on my old chriscraft. What I found was the best finish was using a 1/8 nap foam roller with no tipping. Comes out like a mirror. Just going to a 3/16 roller did not give good...

Just be careful and leave a little room in the tank. If it ever warms up here in Michigan, it will expand and come out the vent. I will be adding 120 gals to mine within the week.

Have you tried turning the engine over at all? Could be your coupler is just stuck in one position. Put your alignment bar in and hit the bar with a rubber malet from side to side a couple times....

trim pump

Is there a better cap for the drive trim pumps? Mine both leak, replaced with new merc, still leak after running in rough water. Pumps are mounted on forward engine bulkhead in a 29 Fountain.

You nailed it Griff. 26" would be a bit better. Went with the 24s. Now spinning 3400 at 50mph.
Its a whole new boat. Bow stays level, trim 2.5-3, no tab needed at all. Cant beleive the difference.

I ordered a set of 24s today hopefully have them by the weekend. May end up with the 26s. I just dont want to lug the motors. My peak torque is 459 at 4700 and HP is 446 at 5300. HP is still at 430...

I have a straight bottom 92 29 fountain with small blocks-450hp each. Looking for better boat attitude at cruiseing speeds-40-50mph. Currently running 25 Mirage Plus and the boat seems way too light...
